OK, to enter: Although I disagree with some parts of the book I'm going to mention (such as waiting for a few years after marriage to have babies and a couple other things involving sexuality that I disagree with as a Catholic, though those were only briefly mentioned and don't take away from the overall wisdom I found in the pages), this year I discovered "Letters to Karen." I must say that it did my marriage and my own self-esteem a lot of good. I found it at a time when I was having serious problems mastering my own self-love and giving myself unconditionally and totally to my family. I was having trouble communicating with my husband and felt he wasn't understanding me at the time, but this little book reminded me of where I belong in the home and in the world. I felt less alone in my endeavors to be selfless in the service of my family at a time when the world tries to make us buy its own warped view of what true success is for a woman. It helped me to accept myself and my role in life with greater charity, and it ultimately improved my marriage at a very difficult time because I felt I had better insight into my OWN problems. I even got my husband to read it so he could better understand me, and it worked! So, that's my little review. :)

I am currently reading "Set-Apart Femininity: God Sacred Intent for Every Young Woman" by Leslie Ludy. I haven't finished it yet, but it has been really good so far!
