Around 3am I woke up to the baby doing it’s total body conditioning class. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out just what kinds of things it was up to but it was definitely moving–moving–moving! From that point on it was pointless to even try to get comfortable in bed. So I got up to do what every 3rd trimester pregnant lady does several times a night with groans because getting up is painful at this point. Every part of me feels sore in new ways. From 3 till after 4 I had my hand over the baby and then at 3:30 the baby got the hiccups. Apparently practicing breathing. These were considerably stronger than the last time I felt them. Well I finally fell back to sleep and woke up to a hiccuping baby again. Strangely enough, the baby has the hiccups right now as well! The baby is really practicing for this breathing debut. Which is very good! Unfortunately Andrew didn’t get to feel either set of them. Soon, soon I am sure. The baby’s movements have changed a bit over the past few weeks they have grown “larger” (right along with the baby.)
Here are the week 31 belly pictures. I can’t believe we are 6 weeks till I am considered term!

Yesterday I was at the grocery store picking up eggs and fruit (these things disappear in our house so quickly!) When stepping out a friendly cashier I hadn’t seen in a while (amazing concept as this is a SMALL town) said “You’re going to be a mama!” The statement really got me thinking the rest of the day though. It reminded me of how inadequate I am to be one. How much I need God to be with me and be my wisdom. I really know that if I do it without God’s strength and wisdom–it will be empty. This child ultimately belongs to God and He has called me to raise him/her for His kingdom. What a high calling! Yikes. Enough to make me pray with a bit of desperation for help.
I also managed to lose my car keys at the grocery store. Thankfully my father in law was able to find the key wired onto the bumper of my car. I owe him a rhubarb crisp for sure. ;) Louise and Libby rescued me from a very hot parking lot also.
Your belly is BEAUTIFUL!!! :) Definitely a “first-time-being-pregnant” belly. There is NO way I’d show my belly after so many littles!!!
Motherhood does make one cry out to God for wisdom! It truly is a humbling experience- both in our own life & in our children’s.
