Have you felt your baby’s hiccups yet? Chances are high that you have but perhaps you have not recognized them as such. When your baby hiccups, it feels like a very small, rhythmic movement, almost like small kicks but they are consistent in nature. Hiccups mean that your baby is drinking your amniotic fluid and they are a good sign that your baby’s lungs are maturing and she is getting ready to be able to breathe on her own. From here
- Your baby’s head is in proportionwith body now. He appears more like a newborn each and every day!
- Fat continues to accumulate under the skin — only now preparing for entering the *real world*.
- Your baby’s brain can control primitive breathing and body temperatures.
- His eyes can move in their sockets. Soon he will be able to follow a blinking light.
- Your baby is increasingly sensitive to changes in light, sound, taste, and smell! Various studies show that your baby may indicate preferences (or disdain) for particular tastes or odors at this stage
- He is also moving from side to side, but probably still is head up. In the next few weeks, he will move to the head down birthing position. At times you may feel as if he is performing somersaults for a circus act!
- Her length is now approximately 15.2 inches (38.6cm) and weight is 2.54 pounds (1153gm)

Apparently the volume of my blood has doubled! The baby is starting to form iron in it’s bone marrow, has all 300 bones formed and is daily putting down calcium (using about 200 mg daily!). I had an awful leg cramp last night. Apparently that means I need to eat more calcium. Way to go for more yogurt.
Also you know your belly is growing when your belly is constantly jabbing the bathroom door while you try to shut it. Ouch! The baby continues to be very active it seems to have been having a party since 6:30 am! I found it amusing although I am starting to wonder how my schedule will change come about 11 weeks from now.
In other very good news the basement is clean and clear! Lydia and Libby came over yesterday to help move boxes and clear stuff. It went well. We also had a huge thunderstorm last night and several shingles from our roof came off. Andrew climbed onto a bench and then onto the roof (to my chagrin) and worked on repairing it temporarily. Hopefully we can get it replaced a bit better. In other news I am banning myself from Ebay for an indefinite period of time. This baby doesn’t need me to nest for it any longer in that sense. I tell you that place can be addictive for checking up on bids.
Happy Friday everyone! Now off to do errands….

ahhhhh i’m gonna be an aunt!!!!
Yess–I keep hearing hilarious stories about Megs and Michael. I can’t wait to see Megs hold her cousin!!
