This past Sunday the Scripture reading was Titus 2:3-5
Likewise, teach the older women
to be reverent in the way they live,
not to be slanderers
or addicted to much wine,
but to teach what is good.
Then they can train the younger women
to love their husbands and children,
to be self-controlled and pure,
to be busy at home, to be kind,
and to be subject to their husbands,
so that no one will malign
the word of God.
I stumbled across this article today. I had read it before and agreed with it but now that I am married and am keeping the home I am finding it hits me in a new way. I like Bethany’s statement:
I think fear is the main obstacle between us and most of the joys God wants to bless us with. Because the greatest delights require the greatest sacrifices, we often would rather remain where we are than step out of the boat onto the water.
Makes me ask myself what are my fears and what are they preventing? Am I stepping out in faith?
Nice new blog :) I LOVE that quote- i might have to steal it :) Blessings to you, Jess!
Thanks and help yourself! I enjoy Boundless’s articles a lot.
